Attention all readers—this site is now under new management.
Okay, this is not technically true, but the same management (me) is taking this slice of the InterWebs in a different direction than before. In the past, I basically wrote on whatever struck my fancy: tithing, epilepsy, family, marriage, writing…you name it, I wrote on it. I won’t be writing on the same broad hodgepodge of ideas any more though.
I have found my focus.
You may have noticed a few changes already, but you deserve a full explanation.
Moving forward, this site will be all about giving hope and strategies for those moments in life where you just get stuck. I believe we can always choose hope, and we are never stuck forever, regardless of the circumstances. Check out my new About page to get some details, then come on back.
Wow, you are a fast reader. How can you take part, you ask?
Simple—I need your help.
It would be beyond foolish for me to think that I am the only one who has anything to share with the world on these topics. I’m no fool, and I KNOW you have stories and strategies to give us. Interested? Take a look at my Guest Post guidelines, and get in touch with me. My desire is to regularly share the stories and ideas from each of you, so that we can together come to realize a few things:
We are each the hero in our own story.
Everyone struggles.
Together is exponentially more powerful than alone.
If you don’t feel like you have lot to share, let’s first agree to disagree. Honestly, I am CONFIDENT your story and your wisdom would bring courage and strength to us, but that’s okay if you are not ready to share. What I’d like to ask then is that you engage on this site. I try to provide open-ended questions to stir up conversation around whatever the topic for the day is, so jump into the fray.
And don’t just add your comment, but feel free to start chatting with others who show up too. I am a HUGE believer in community, and this only happens when we interact with each other.
I hope you will join me on this journey under new management and with greater focus.
Way to go, Chris! I’m still refining my blogging “niche”, but after spending most of the summer not writing, I’m getting focused again (and excited)! I read your guest post guidelines. I’m interesting. Will be contacting you with an idea via email.
Blessings!
This is a great direction for you Chris. I look forward to reading your blog (already did, but moreso now.) Cheers!
Thanks Joan. It’s an exciting place to be, having discovered my niche. The imagery is confusing too. It’s like I’ve been running around for the last year, just looking for the starting line for my race. Now I get to actually start.
I am thrilled you are looking at guest posting. I know that, for this community to be about more than me, many many voices are needed. Hope yours will be one of them
I really discovered a groove when I was writing my book. I know now this is where I ought to be. Together with the others I hope to have join me in sharing their stories, I truly believe this site can become a wonderful resource when we begin to lose our grip on hope, sanity, etc.
yay for focus and new direction. yeah buddy! very exciting stuff, my friend. eventually, i hope to have a guest post for you. but you know where my new direction goes, so it may be a bit. regardless, i’ll be here reading and encouraging you! exciting times ahead.
Tim, our conversations about you finding your focus really spurred me to find my own. So really, this is your fault!
The door is always open for you to send me a guest post, if at some point you need a break from writing amazing fiction
This is awesome Chris, great to see you finding your focus. Great inspiration to me as I begin to take my blog forward. Thanks for inspiring me, and good luck. Can’t wait to see how this goes. I’d love to guest post here too – will be in touch.
I am happy to see that I get to inspire you for a change. I feel like over the last year, much of our friendship has been you inspiring and encouraging me to step forward.
Looking forward to hearing more from you about guest posting. This site will be less-than without other voices. Even though it’s called chrismorriswrites
Wow, glad to hear I’ve been inspiring you Chris – really encouraging to hear that. It’s your strategy and planning which has impressed me, and just how focussed you’ve become. I’m a good planner, but I don’t spend enough time planning, if you get me. And I spent a while finding my focus. So it’s inspiring to see you do this so well. Will let you know about guest posting in due course.
Love the new site Chris. The focus is great and it reflects who you are. Looking forward to all your going to bring in the future.
I am jazzed to walk down this new path. Thanks for stopping by Troy
Great new beginning Chris!
Thanks Christa — I like it too
well, if this is partly my fault, then i’ll take the blame. i appreciate our friendship and our numerous conversations about writing and focus.
This is great! Totally in line with the feel of this blog. Are you part of the Couch Rebels project? My story made it in that book, so it was great to see it advertised here. That’s awesome! (And totally applies to your new focus!)
Thanks Katie! I did have a story in the Couch Rebels book, and I am happy it fit with where I am going as a writer.
Love the dynamism and focus here, Chris! You have succeeded in whetting my appetite both as a reader and potential guest poster (if you’ll have me?!). The topic areas speak into my own areas of interest and enthusiasm and I can’t wait to see what happens next. Great stuff! 🙂 x
Joy, I am beyond thrilled to hear you say you’d like to guest post. As a regular reader of your blog, I KNOW you have so much to offer in this vein of thought.
I am also excited to see what the next few months hold as this blog develops further.
Really? You’re a regular reader keen to have me guest post? Wow, you have just made my day. Thanks, Chris! This blog is already exciting a lot of community spirit and interest. It’s going to be awesome 🙂
This is great, Chris! I love the new look and the focus. Can’t wait to see how it grows. It’s very inspiring to me to see others finding their niche and moving forward on the writing road. Know that some of us are watching, learning, and gaining confidence because of you! 🙂
Rebeca, you humble me to say that you are growing in confidence by my journey. I only started this idea of writing about a year ago. So thrilled you are see things worth paying attention to though. In the meantime, just keep pushing forward into your writing. At some point, you will discover that you love writing about ‘something’. That’s when you find your niche
Love the new focus, Chris! Excited to see where you go with it. Now to find my own niche. 😉
